I would like to see it again. As long as it would be animated....although the skiing zombies always gave the mod a comical feel. :D

[EDIT]
Actually, I just found this when I went to FPS banana.
http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins/12771

I'm guessing that it would work with ZM if someone converted it to work right with it...or something like that. I don't know how it works. I also found another one that looks like the charple model but has the headcrab on it.

As well as a combine one too.

I should be able to extract, roll a new qc, and make these work with ZM. If I do get them to work, then I'll post them in the main thread.

Nice find...thanks a lot buddy, now I have work to do

that would be great, i sure as hell don't fell like doing it...hell, i'm combining 3 tuts and lots of tribal knowledge to do mine and it would take me hours do make a tut that would actually work...there are some decent tuts out there, but they all have their misinterpretations...lots of trial and error for me

Well, I got one to work. I'm testing it now on my public test server and if all goes well through the night, then I'll post it in my main models thread.

Currently in action at: 70.112.145.164:27015 it's always packed though ;-)

Here's a short video clip: FAST ZOMBIE VIDEO LINK

The other two shouldn't be a problem (so I think). This first one took me about 2 hours with the first hour trying to figure out why I couldn't correctly decompile with Cannon Fodders...come to find out, stupid Valve and they ingenious ingenuity, updated /counter-strike-source/bin dll's but didn't touch /sourcesdk/bin dll's so I just had to copy them over, but that took a lot of looking around :x

Expect the other two by week's end...sorry, I just don't have the time to knock out all three of these in one sitting.

Okay,

Server had one crash last night registered, but it's hard to tell if it was related to using this model and it's doubtfull since the server ran over 4 hours packed with no crashes. I still do get sporatic crashes and I believe it to be Mani Admins doing crazy shit so IDK.

I want to make the model available here to DL and I need you all to get it a try and report any issues. If all goes well, then I'll roll it up with the main package DL in the other thread.

FAST ZOMBIE DOWNLOAD AND EXTRACT TO SERVER'S CSTRIKE FOLDER

Now add the following to your /cfg/zombiemod/downloads.cfg

Code: Select all

//Fast Zombie recompiled for ZM by Lex Talionis
materials/models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/fast_zombie_sheet.vmt
materials/models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/t_guerilla.vmt
materials/models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/T_Guerilla.vtf
materials/models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/T_Guerilla_Normal.vtf

models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/t_guerilla.dx80.vtx
models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/t_guerilla.dx90.vtx
models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/t_guerilla.mdl
models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/t_guerilla.phy
models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/t_guerilla.sw.vtx
models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/t_guerilla.vvd
Add the following to your /cfg/zombiemod/models.cfg

Code: Select all

//Fast Zombie recompiled for ZM by Lex Talionis
models/player/lextalionis/fast_zombie/t_guerilla
The original client-side download files from fpsbananna had two files (fast_zombie_sheet.vtf and fast_zombie_sheet_normal.vtf) which were 1.5mb each and I had a good feeling that these are HL2 client cached resources, so I didn't include them and pointed the vmt files to the stored cache path and it seemed to have worked. So this saved 3M in size.

Thanks to errordotocx for finding these and thanks to whomever did all original client-side model work.

Enjoy,
Lex
p.s. I'll try one of the headcrab models tonight...which one shall it be?

I finally got the "Zombine" (I believe it's the Episode I Combine Zombie with a head crab) to work...I was able to utilize the client cache for the headcrab, but when it came to the combinezombie_sheets I couldn't find them anywhere with GCFScape, and I believe it's because I don't have episode 1 installed...lol...no biggie...I just rolled up that vtf which was 1.3meg...now it's late and me must go to bed, I promise to upload this model here tomorrow, put it's currently in test on my public test server mentioned in an aformentioned thread here.
